Responsibilities

Ensure that L3Harris mechanical engineering design standards and processes are followed.
Ensure that overhead budgets are met Ensure that the mechanical designs of the group meet
Lead team on new proposal bids to guide concept, BOE and BOM development.
Develop our technology to push our designs forward for lower mass, lower cost, higher performance.
Collaborate across functions to minimize gaps in requirements,

The ideal candidate for this position has extensive knowledge of EO/IR payload design that can be implemented in low size, weight, and power (SWaP) space systems.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical engineering and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience.
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. 5+ years of
experience leading a technical team
Experience working with government contracts, requirements, and compliance
Experience with payload level design and development of mechanical architecture Preferred Additional Skills: DOD Secret Clearance preferred Optical space payload design experience
Experience with functional management of a team of engineers Creo design
experience Design of IR and cryogenic optics systems
Experience with budget allocation and management
