Responsibilities
- Track site specific downtime to identify reliability improvement opportunities and utilize Root Cause Analysis processes to review failures and identify corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence.
- Develop subject matter expertise of fundamental reliability concepts and skills.
- Develop operations process knowledge required for effective troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Collaborate with peers to develop reliability improvement strategies, pursue consistency between sites, share best practices and experiences.
- Deploy and execute electrical asset strategies and monitor results to continually refine and improve.
- Review and authorize work permits; development of lock-out-tag-out plans.
- Collaborate with maintenance planning teams to develop key field service maintenance scopes for regular maintenance, and annual turnarounds.
- Interpret test results and ensure follow up actions are tracked and completed.
- Coordinate power system study activities.
Requirements
- What do you need for this role? Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology required; bachelor’s in electrical engineering preferred. P.
- Tech designation required; APEGS Licensee or P.
- experience in electrical power systems (10+ years preferred).
- Strong skills in testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, project management, and planning; knowledge of RCA, RCM, FMEA.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and engineering tools (relays, VFDs, Asset Centre, Easy Power, AutoCAD).
- Familiarity with protective relaying schemes, SEL devices, and power monitoring is an asset.
