Requirements
- Successfully completed an accredited surgical technologist training program and holds a current credential as a certified surgical technologist from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or its successor.
- Or, has successfully completed a training program for surgical technology during the person's service as a member of any branch of the armed forces of the United States.
- Experience: None Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Certification in Surgical Technology required.
- LPN licensure required for grandfathered employees.
- Qualifications: Knowledge of instrumentations.
- Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.

- Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to assure quality patient care. The Certified Surgical Technologist Establishes and maintains a sterile field and assures team maintains a sterile environment.
- Correctly and safely passes instruments to clinician.
- Participants in surgical counts (sponge, needle and instruments), per policy.
- Communicates with surgeons, gastroenterologists, anesthesiologists, other necessary staff and patients to facilitate continuity of care.
- Follows policies, procedures, all regulatory standards and patient safety goals.
- Participates in the nursing process for patients of all ages served.
- Participates in unit educational activities. What We Require: Education: High school graduate or equivalent required.
