Responsibilities
- Review work requests and work orders to verify scope clarity, priority, asset information, problem description, required resources, and planning readiness.
- Identify required materials, spare parts, specialty tools, equipment, contractor support, vendor services, and other
- Develop work packages that support safe, efficient, and repeatable execution of preventive, corrective, regulatory, and condition-based maintenance activities. Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Engineering, Reliability, and contractors to clarify work scope, resolve planning gaps, and confirm execution readiness before scheduling.
- Maintain job plans, task lists, PM records, equipment information, material requirements, and planning data within computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Track maintenance backlog status and support timely scheduling of approved maintenance work.
- Support scheduling by ensuring planned work is complete, properly scoped, resourced, and ready for safe and efficient execution.
- Review historical work order information, failure history, equipment records, and maintenance feedback to improve future job plans.
- Identify planning deficiencies, material gaps, unclear scopes, execution risks, and documentation issues prior to work being scheduled.
- Update job plans based on technician feedback, lessons learned, recurring work history, reliability input, and changes to equipment or maintenance strategies.
- Ensure work orders are planned to the appropriate level of detail before moving to scheduling or execution.
- Support record retention and documentation
- Track maintenance planning metrics and work order readiness information using established reporting tools.
- Support preparation of maintenance planning and scheduling meeting materials, including work order readiness and backlog review information.
- Plan and coordinate work package
- Maintain maintenance planning records, job plans, work packages, and supporting documentation required for operational and regulatory compliance.
- Identify planning conflicts, resource constraints, material issues, documentation gaps, and potential maintenance execution concerns and communicate them through established channels.
- Support quality and accuracy of maintenance job plans, work orders, and work management records.
- Team Collaboration and Process Support Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, Planning/Scheduling, Supply Chain, Engineering, Reliability, and contractor personnel to support maintenance planning and scheduling readiness.
- Support implementation of planning process improvements, job plan standardization, and work management system enhancements.
- Support continuous improvement efforts focused on planning quality, job plan effectiveness, work order readiness, data quality, and work management effectiveness.
Requirements

- Education High school diploma or GED typically required Associate degree or technical certificate in industrial technology, maintenance technology, business administration, operations management, or a related field preferred Work
- experience in maintenance planning, job plan development, work order management, maintenance coordination, maintenance scheduling, or related industrial maintenance activities.
- Experience developing maintenance work packages, task lists, material requirements, labor estimates, equipment needs, and execution plans.
- Experience supporting maintenance operations within pipeline, terminal, storage, plant, utility, manufacturing, petrochemical, or oil and gas environments.
- Experience using SAP, Maximo, Oracle, Hexagon, or other maintenance management systems to plan, document, and manage maintenance work.
- Experience using CMMS data, equipment history, technician feedback, and reliability input to improve job plans and maintenance effectiveness.
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Excel, reporting tools, and business systems to support maintenance planning, scheduling readiness, and operational activities. Equivalent industry

- Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), planning tools, scheduling tools, and work management processes.
- Knowledge of maintenance reporting, data management, and recordkeeping requirements.
- Knowledge of industrial safety practices and operational procedures applicable to maintenance activities.
- Knowledge of maintenance support processes used in pipeline, terminal, storage, plant, and related industrial environments.
- Skill in developing accurate, executable job plans and work packages for maintenance activities using established work management processes.
- Skill in using CMMS, enterprise systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools to support maintenance planning and scheduling readiness.
- Skill in coordinating maintenance planning activities among Operations, Maintenance, contractors, Supply Chain, Engineering, Reliability, and support personnel.
- Skill in reviewing work orders for scope completeness, material readiness, safety requirements, execution constraints, and scheduling readiness.
