Responsibilities
- - Design and implement robust data pipelines and payment processing systems across multiple providers.
- - Collaborate with infrastructure engineers to optimize our AWS-based architecture using Infrastructure as Code.
- - Drive the consolidation and standardization of our data layer across Supabase, Firebase, and legacy systems.

- ABOUT THE ROLE We're looking for a Software Engineer, Backend to architect and evolve our serverless infrastructure while leveraging cutting-edge AI development tools.
- The ideal candidate combines deep backend expertise with a passion for building clean, maintainable systems and a forward-thinking approach to AI-assisted development.
- - Refactor and modernize our existing Lambda-based microservices architecture to establish patterns that maximize AI tool effectiveness.
- - Champion best practices for AI-native development, creating patterns and abstractions that enable rapid iteration with tools like Cursor and Claude Code.
- WHAT YOU'LL NEED - Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js and serverless architectures, with deep AWS Lambda and event-driven systems experience. - Proven track record of architecting and refactoring complex distributed systems at scale. - Strong
- experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Pulumi or similar tools, and AWS services (Step Functions, SQS, EventBridge). - Demonstrated ability to leverage AI development tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining code quality and architectural integrity. - Excellence in designing clean, testable, and well-documented code that serves as an effective context for AI assistants. - Commitment to Bree's mission of providing Canadian consumers with the best short-term credit services.
