- Position Overview Carilion Clinic is seeking a dedicated Orthopedic Spine Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our growing Spine Surgery team.
- This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeons in a dynamic, high-volume practice serving a diverse patient population.
- The APP will provide comprehensive care across the continuum, including outpatient clinic, inpatient rounding, perioperative management, and first assist in the operating room. Key
- Responsibilities Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations for spine patients Order and interpret diagnostic tests, imaging, and labs Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans Provide pre-operative and post-operative care First assist in spine surgical procedures Conduct inpatient rounds and coordinate discharge planning Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and recovery Collaborate with surgeons, nursing staff, therapy services, and care
