Requirements
- You will work with oligonucleotides, plasmids, enzymes, and PCR-based reagents.
- You will maintain knowledge of industry advancements, regulatory requirements, and IDEXX products and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline required
- Experience working with PCR reagents, oligonucleotides, plasmids, enzymes, or molecular diagnostic technologies
- Ability to design and execute moderately complex experiments independently
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment
- Adaptability and the ability to manage shifting priorities and deadlines
- Ability to lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally

- As a Scientist II – Reagent Process Development , you will play a key role in developing and optimizing molecular biology reagents that support IDEXX’s growing diagnostic portfolio for companion animal care.
- Working within a technically focused R&D team, you will design and execute laboratory experiments, analyze complex data, and contribute to the development, validation, and transfer of innovative molecular diagnostic reagents into manufacturing.
- You will leverage your expertise in molecular biology, biochemistry, and reagent development to improve assay performance, reagent stability, and manufacturability while collaborating across teams to deliver high-quality diagnostic solutions.

- You will design and execute experiments focused on improving reagent performance, stability, and manufacturability.
- You will prepare and develop liquid-phase molecular biology reagents.
- You will perform laboratory testing, characterization, and validation activities for reagents and final products.
- You will analyze experimental data, troubleshoot issues, and provide recommendations based on scientific findings.
- You will maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and experimental documentation.
