Responsibilities
- Build, configure, and maintain database infrastructure (Oracle, SQL Server, and open-source databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Deploy database schema changes across development, staging, and production environments.
- Administer and support non-production database systems to ensure reliability and performance.
- Research and analyze performance problems, identify root causes, and recommend tuning strategies.
- Define, enforce, and document database policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data integrity and security.
Requirements
- This role requires deep expertise in Oracle or Postgres administration, a strong foundation in database design, and a passion for learning open-source technologies. Key
- Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience). Minimum of 6 years of hands-on
- experience as a Database Administrator (DBA). In-depth knowledge of Oracle or Postgres database administration functions. Strong database design
- experience and familiarity with schema optimization.
- Interest in learning and working with open-source databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Couchbase).
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-based database services. Preferred:
- Experience with automation tools and scripting for database operations. Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience in a startup or high-growth environment.
