R&D Machinist II

Responsibilities

  • Program and operate Haas CNC mills and lathes using SolidWorks/CAM workflows.
  • Manufacture precise prototype parts using manual mills, manual lathes, and 3D printers.
  • Review engineering drawings for clarity and manufacturability; provide DFM input to engineering teams.
  • Design and produce basic fixtures and tooling to support CNC operations.
  • Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, bore gauges, height measurement systems, and other precision metrology tools.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements.
  • Maintain equipment, tooling inventories, and shop documentation. What will you need to be successful?

Requirements

  • They review engineering prints, provide basic DFM/manufacturability feedback, and support CNC programming and fixture design using SolidWorks and related CAM tools.
  • Strong proficiency in manual machining and CNC setup/operation.
  • Ability to create or modify CAM programs and fixture designs in SolidWorks.
  • Solid understanding of GD&T, tolerancing, and precision measurement techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with cross-functional engineering teams. You Unlimited.

Experience

  • 3–5 years of machining or prototype fabrication experience, preferably in a precision or regulated industry.
