Requirements
- What You Need to Succeed: A bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences/microbiology or an equivalent combination of education Desirably
- experience in a similar position or veterinary practice, especially with practical
- experience in Urinalysis, Parasitology and/or Microbiology Interest in performing automated instrumentation as well as manual methods
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment and the ability to prioritize and multi-task Ability to read, understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), including safety and quality procedures A positive attitude and love to bring this energy into the lab every day to support your colleagues, whether working independently or as a team contributor Ability to meet the physical

- As a Medical Laboratory Technician in our Microbiology department in Wetherby , you will receive, prepare, and assess veterinary samples to help veterinarians identify what might be wrong with someone's pet.
- You might be surprised at the similarities between a human clinical microbiology lab and a veterinary clinical microbiology lab.
- In most cases we use exactly the same media and process the same samples.
- In addition, we also use the same equipment, recover a lot of the same micro-organisms.
- We have the privilege of helping not just one species – last year we received specimens from over 70 different species and 20 different countries! One day is never the same as another.
