Responsibilities
- Optimize End-to-End Strategy: Leverage advanced data analytics to independently derive insights, develop, and optimize business, risk, or growth strategies across products and geographies.
- Manage Macro & Market Trends: Monitor portfolio performance and exogenous macroeconomic trends; proactively adjust analytical and operational strategies to mitigate risk and balance growth.
- Oversee Frameworks & Launches: Oversee the development and execution of analytical frameworks.
- Drive cross-functional discussions to ensure new product launches and market entries align with risk appetite, operational capabilities, and local regulations.
Requirements
- We partner with Machine Learning, Product, Engineering, Capital Markets, and Commercial teams to grow Affirm responsibly by optimizing approval, conversion, losses, and profitability.
- experience across Affirm by streamlining workflows and fostering a culture of learning and documentation.
- You bring exceptional analytical rigor, deep domain expertise, and the ability to translate complex regulatory, economic, and machine learning insights into actionable business strategies.
- Model & Capability Building: Partner deeply with Engineering and ML teams to design, build, and interpret performance metrics for scalable risk, fraud, or growth models.
- AI Leverage & Mentorship: Build repeatable AI-assisted workflows that compound across the team's analyses, while mentoring junior analysts on technical craft and domain nuances. What We Look For 2–5 years of proven
- experience in an analytically-driven role within the consumer lending, credit, or fintech industry, specifically leveraging advanced analytics to develop and optimize business strategies.
- Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
- experience applying machine learning techniques to business or risk management problems. Proven
- experience leading cross-functional initiatives that bridge Product, Legal, Compliance, and Engineering to align analytical strategies with business objectives.
- Strong understanding of consumer lending regulations, regional market dynamics, and the broader economic landscape influencing policy and growth.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex regulatory and economic insights into actionable strategies.
- Affirmers in proximal roles have the flexibility to work remotely, but will occasionally be required to work out of their assigned Affirm office.
