Responsibilities

Responsibilities Review sales & use and property tax calculations and coordination with external tax advisors and oversee data collection efforts of internal team.
Perform tax research and analysis in order to provide a recommended solution and prepare written documentation to support tax positions taken.
Manage or assist with tax audits as needed.
Review calculations for journal entry postings and review account reconciliations.
Identify and implement process improvements.

Ongoing development of technical knowledge of applicable tax laws and regulations.
Knowledge Working knowledge of general sales, use, and property tax provisions (not state-specific provisions).
Knowledge of tax provisions as they apply to online services a plus.
Knowledge of tax and accounting calculations and preparing supporting work papers.
General knowledge of SEC and IRS reporting requirements.
Ability to work under minimal supervision, independently and/or as a member of a project team.
Skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) are a must.
Experience with Oracle, Vertex, and Avalara preferred.
A strong ability to communicate information and ideas both verbally and written so others can easily comprehend communication.
Ability to successfully work with other departments in the company.
Ability to lead, mentor and develop a team.
Education High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline required.
Master's degree preferred. Certifications
CPA or equivalent preferred Experience
experience in direct people management required
Experience in Public Accounting, Big 4, and Corporate Accounting preferred.

The compensation range for this position ranges from $132,149.00/year in our lowest geographic market up to 193,856.30 USD/year in our highest geographic market.
Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Preferred location for this role is San Antonio or Texas as our Tax team reports to our office 1-3 times a week, but candidates from any US - based location may be considered to work remotely. Key
Investigates and prepares responses to notices and inquiries from various taxing authorities.
Assist with the determination of the taxability of new products and services as needed including Vertex updates to support new products.
Ability to conduct tax technical research and analysis in order to provide a recommended solution.
Must be detailed oriented – with strong attention to accuracy and problem-solving. “Following-up until resolved” skills are a must.
Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills.
