Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and optimise internal services powering the gaming ecosystem
Deliver new features, resolve bugs, and continuously improve performance across Erlang services
Integrate and manage configurations for multiple game providers
Support provider migrations and upgrades
Manage and optimise Kubernetes workloads within AWS
Tune system resources (CPU, memory), Kafka configurations, DynamoDB usage, and DNS setups
Collaborate with SRE teams on cross-platform reliability and scalability
Investigate and resolve platform incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive fixes
Monitor and scale platform capacity during high-traffic campaigns
Prevent service degradation and ensure a seamless player experience under load
Support internal teams (Engagement, Content Integrations, Integration) with API usage and transaction behaviour

As a Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in building and operating a high-throughput, distributed gaming platform built on Erlang.
AI-driven development improvements
Solid understanding of high-availability, low-latency systems
Strong backend engineering experience in distributed systems •
Experience with Erlang, or willingness to learn Hands-on
experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and Kubernetes
Familiarity with event-driven architectures (e.g. Kafka)
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-scale production environment Tech Stack
Languages: Erlang (prior
experience in other functional languages is a plus, or willingness to learn)
