Responsibilities

- Take ownership of backend system architecture and implementation - Build performant and resilient data flows; keeping security in mind during every step - Work closely with product team to regularly ship working features - Work in an iterative fashion - Mentor and advise team members - Evaluate and deliver timeline estimates - Write tests as you code

Requirements

Taptap Send is a cross-platform mobile app developed with React Native and TypeScript, which talks to a backend service written in Kotlin and backed by a PostgreSQL database, all of which runs on AWS and is managed via Terraform and Ansible.
This is a backend-focused role, but you will have plenty of opportunities to work on all parts of our tech stack.
experience architecting backend systems - 2+ years leading technical projects and/or technical teams - Proficiency with Kotlin - Proficiency with PostgreSQL - Proficiency with AWS: S3, SQS, SNS, Lambda, etc. -
Experience implementing and managing elaborate integrations with third-party APIs -
Experience working on systems that have real-world performance and reliability constraints -
Experience with commercial cloud environments, preferably AWS -
Experience developing software in a collaborative, multi-functional, and fast-paced environment - Strong communication and ability to manage conflicting priorities, setting expectations with stakeholders and be a driving force Ideally: -
Experience working with Infrastructure as Code technologies, like Terraform and Ansible -
Experience with SRE or similar infrastructure work -
