Responsibilities

Identify and assess business and legal risks, and find creative ways to mitigate them while achieving product goals
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Advise on, review, and draft consumer agreements in support of new products
Develop trusted relationships to facilitate a coordinated team approach to launching new products and features

J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school (or foreign equivalent)
experience across a law firm, government agency, or a fast-paced technology, financial services, banking, lending, payments, or fintech company
experience with consumer lending products, including credit cards and applicable federal consumer financial protection laws such as the Truth in Lending Act, the Equal Opportunity Credit Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
Deep understanding of consumer banking products, including deposit accounts and applicable federal consumer financial protection laws such as the Expedited Funds Availability Act, the Truth in Savings Act, and the Electronic Fund Transfer Act •
Experience working with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and its rules and regulations
Experience supporting the rollout of retail-based customer products and services
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate information effectively to non-legal audiences and drive cross-functional alignment
experience with catered meals, events, and comfortable workspaces.

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.
Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands.
The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones.
For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process. Base Pay Range:
Zone 1 (Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY; Bellevue, WA; Washington, DC) $217,000 — $255,000 USD Zone 2 (Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL) $191,000 — $224,000 USD Zone 3 (Lake Mary, FL; Clearwater, FL; Gainesville, FL) $170,000 — $199,000 USD

We are looking for an experienced and innovative credit attorney to join our product and regulatory counsel team as an Assistant General Counsel, reporting to the Director and Associate General Counsel, Derivatives, Banking, and IP at Robinhood.
As an Assistant General Counsel, Credit Cards, you will serve as the primary legal architect and product counsel for our credit ecosystem, guiding multi-functional teams from ideation through launch.
