Responsibilities
- Ensure contaminated project sites are investigated and remediated in accordance with federal, state and local government regulations.
- Manage all aspects of long-term remediation projects, including schedule, budget, remediation system design, operation and compliance, regulatory agency coordination and consultation, and environmental consultant contracting and performance.
- Develop tools and templates to manage the collection of environmental compliance and remediation information that results in enhanced compliance and company performance with the appropriate quality and accuracy reviews of the data.
- Manage field inspections for operating assets and construction projects.
- Enhance existing compliance programs based on audit results.
- Lead internal audits of facilities within and outside areas of responsibility.
- Represent the company in the evaluation and implementation of minor emerging regulatory issues through committees of state based Industry Associations or in support of the company's Regulatory Issue Guideline.
- Recognize and resolve regulatory applicability issues and identify compliance requirements and tasks.
- Recognize the need for and development of new procedures and tools to facilitate and demonstrate compliance.
- Review environmental inspection reports and resolve potential compliance issues based on knowledge of regulations, construction practices and operating assets.
- Evaluate contractor and consultant performance and make recommendations on continued use.
- Manage the permit process from start to finish for all media, including applications for new construction and operating assets.
- Ensure quality and accuracy of practical permit conditions based on evaluation of compliance risk.
- Manage multiple compliance systems across multiple media for complex operating sites and projects.
- Train new users on compliance systems and procedures.
- Manage and participate in agency inspections and represent the company in negotiations on compliance or enforcement issues.
- Coordinate and facilitate environmental project permitting prior to, during, and after construction for maintenance, growth and large capital projects.
- Collect and review environmental field samples (air, water, and waste) for analysis.

- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of: state and federal environmental regulations and standards and their applicability to operations.
- Ability to: apply math, algebraic formulas, and statistics.
- Ability to: interact, advise and communicate effectively, exchange information/provide instructions, conduct verbal presentations.
- Ability to: develop communications utilizing fundamental technical writing skills.

- Expected Salary Range $82,000.00 - $122,000.00

Additional details
- Sampling of all environmental media, including soil, sediment, surface water, and groundwater.
- In situ and ex situ remedial knowledge and implementation experience
- Responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:
- Collaboration with consultants, regulators and internal stakeholders to identify the optimum remedy and to accomplish project objectives.
- Soliciting proposals, review and present technical approach and costs to internal customers for financial approval, executing the project with the selected consultant/contractor, managing the overall progress of the project, and tracking and reporting on the cost and status.
- Supporting ongoing development of the remediation program by participating in the development of guidance documents, templates, and financial and project management tools.
- Travel would be expected to help oversee work in the field.
