Responsibilities
- Research corner records and other data, including county survey and corner tie records, road records, deeds of record, railroad plats, NDOT plans, and field books with limited direction.
- Draft the survey plat and the corner tie sheets by computer-aided drafting and prepare for filing with the repository after approval by the Professional Surveyor.

Requirements
- experience toward becoming a professional Land Surveyor in the future while working mostly in rural areas across the state.
- Qualifications : Two-year post-high school degree in land surveying.
- Experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Preferred
- Qualifications: Direct experience/knowledge of Trimble Global Positioning equipment and Trimble Business Center software as well as Bentley Open Roads Computer Aided Drafting software.
- Experience working with or through NDOT Right of Way Survey Staff.
- Other: Must have a valid driver’s license or ability to provide independent authorized transportation.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of: Coordinate, trigonometry, and survey principles.
- Skills in: Reading highway plans, using calculators, and basic computer operations.
- Effective communication skills are required to perform the essential functions of the job.
