Responsibilities
- Review accounts for discrepancies and reconcile differences through proper documentation to ensure integrity of accounting information
- Research unique transactions and demonstrate the ability to independently determine proper accounting treatment and considerations
- Prepare and manage month end close accruals, adjusting journal entries, and account reconciliations and ability to present the results to management
- Collaborate and plan with supply chain and engineering teams to ensure proper inventory and bill of materials tracking for vehicle builds
- Support new system implementations and internal controls documentation as needed
Requirements
- Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, May develops and deploys autonomous vehicles (AVs) powered by our innovative Multi-Policy Decision Making (MPDM) technology that literally reimagines the way AVs think.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes to provide cross-functional support to those functions.
- Demonstrate an understanding of accounting standards (specifically ASC 606) to come to an accounting treatment and ability to document and present such conclusions to the Accounting Manager
- Demonstrate an independent understanding of Company’s expense policies and ability to manage and coordinate with employees to uphold compliance and reporting
- Ability to understand and relate to the agile startup and engineering mindset
- Ability to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced work environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
- Strong understanding of US GAAP
- Strong working knowledge of Excel
- Ability to diplomatically approach team members to discuss sensitive financial matters
- Ability to use professional judgment to escalate matters when necessary
- Flexibility and ability to display sound judgment while operating in a fast-paced environment Desirable
- MBA or Master of Accounting CPA preferred NetSuite experience
- Experience using Google Suite Physical Requirements

- Partner directly with vendors as part of monthly invoicing coordination and onboarding of new vendors as needed
- Assist the Accounting team with financial statement preparation and audits, including preparation of footnote disclosures, related support and tie out support
- Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance
