Responsibilities
- Manage highly available and scalable MySQL database clusters across containerized infrastructure platforms.
- Perform performance tuning and optimization to improve scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Implement backup, recovery, monitoring, and database security strategies.
- Automate deployment, scaling, and operational tasks using Python, Bash, Kubernetes, and cloud technologies .
- Monitor database health, capacity, and performance using enterprise observability tools.
- Troubleshoot production database incidents and conduct root cause analysis for operational issues.
- Lead lifecycle management activities for database platforms and infrastructure environments.
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional engineering, operations, and SRE teams.
- Document database architectures, operational procedures, and technical runbooks.
- Collaborate with highly skilled international engineering teams.
- Develop expertise in high-availability database architecture and automation.

- experience as a Database Engineer in enterprise environments. At least 3 years of hands-on
- experience managing Elasticsearch platforms .
- Experience designing and supporting large-scale Elasticsearch clusters and MySQL environments. Strong
- experience with Kubernetes , containerized database deployments, and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP .
- Experience implementing database backup, recovery, monitoring, and automation strategies.
- Experience using monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, or Splunk .
- Experience automating operational tasks using Python or Bash scripting .
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering and operations teams.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and multicultural environments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within fast-paced operational environments. Language
- Requirements: Japanese: Basic level. English: Fluent / Business level. Preferred Skills &
- Experience with additional NoSQL technologies such as Couchbase . Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform .
- Experience implementing Elasticsearch security features and access controls. Understanding of database security, encryption, and compliance best practices.
- Experience managing stateful applications within Kubernetes environments. Familiarity with Docker containerization technologies.
- Experience leading database modernization or automation initiatives. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working in large-scale cloud or e-commerce environments.
