Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a range of commercial and supplier agreements, including hardware supply, software licensing, services, joint development, and partnership agreements, while developing and maintaining playbooks, templates, and negotiation guidelines for use across the legal team
  • Advise on regulatory matters related to autonomous vehicle testing, deployment, and commercialization at the federal, state, and local levels
  • Support the management of outside counsel and coordinate with external advisors on specialized matters including litigation, IP, and regulatory filings
  • Develop and deliver training programs on legal compliance, contracting best practices, and risk management for business teams

Requirements

  • Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, May develops and deploys autonomous vehicles (AVs) powered by our innovative Multi-Policy Decision Making (MPDM) technology that literally reimagines the way AVs think.
  • experience (experience at a technology, automotive, or mobility company is strongly preferred) Demonstrated
  • Experience developing or managing compliance programs, policies, or internal controls
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex legal concepts for non-legal audiences Preferred •
  • Experience in the autonomous vehicle, automotive, robotics, or advanced transportation technology sector
  • Familiarity with NHTSA regulations, FMVSS standards, state AV legislation, or other transportation safety frameworks •
  • Experience supporting companies through high-growth stages, including Series C/D and beyond

Experience

  • 5–8 years of legal experience, including a combination of law firm and in-house counsel
