Requirements
Role Summary/Purpose: We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to provide technical leadership for building and enhancing on‑premises data warehouse solutions and accelerating our migration to AWS, including Amazon Redshift.
Responsible for the design and implementation of scalable & fault tolerant data applications on on-prem & AWS to store and process terabytes of data from upstream sources with high availability.
Responsible for design, development, testing oversight, and production implementation using on‑prem RDBMS platforms, Ab Initio, SQL, and AWS (Amazon Redshift).
Work closely with Product Owners, Product Managers, Program Manager, Scrum Masters and Team Members in a Scaled Agile framework.
Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 4 years of
experience in Technology in the consumer banking industry OR High School Diploma\GED and a minimum of 6 years or
experience in Technology OR successful completion of Synchrony’s Business Leadership Program
Experience with large scale relational database and public cloud (AWS preferred) environments. Strong
experience and deep understanding of ETL, data warehousing, Cloud technologies (AWS) and analytics concepts.
Strong engineering skills in on‑prem RDBMS/data warehouse platforms, Ab Initio (GDE/Co>Operating System), advanced SQL, and AWS, including Amazon Redshift.
Strong cloud engineering skills with AWS, including hands-on
experience with Amazon Redshift and related data services.
Experience with batch and real-time data pipelines in a DevOps environment.
Ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with Technology and Business Stakeholders.
experience in a Credit card/Banking/Fin tech companies.
Experience dealing with sensitive data in a highly regulated environment.
Experience with data visualization technologies such as Tableau
Experience with APIs/Microservices in data-driven applications Demonstrated implementation of complex and innovative solutions.

Benefits
Grade/Level: 10 The salary range for this position is 100,000.00 - 170,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
