Requirements
- As Marqeta’s Senior Technical Writer , you will shape how developers build on our platform by creating and scaling documentation for APIs, SDKs, and platform experiences.
- You will improve how documentation is structured, generated, and maintained at scale using tooling, automation, and AI, while driving clarity, usability, and self-serve integration.
- Partner with Engineering and Product to validate APIs and maintain code-to-doc alignment.
- Use docs-as-code and AI-driven tooling to improve accuracy and reduce drift.
- Apply AI and automation to scale content creation and updates
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and integration workflows •
- Experience with OpenAPI or Swagger in API-first environments
- Proficient in docs-as-code tools such as GitHub, Markdown, Jira, and Postman
- Able to read code, test APIs, and ensure code-to-doc alignment
- Proven ability to improve documentation clarity, structure, and usability •
- Experience using AI or automation to scale documentation workflows •
- Experience in fintech, banking, or payments with knowledge of integrations
- Strong understanding of developer
- Experience with SDK documentation across web or mobile.
- Familiarity with developer onboarding flows and sandbox environments.
- Experience in measuring and improving documentation effectiveness.
- Familiarity with modern documentation platforms such as Mintlify

- When determining salaries, we consider several factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior experience, and work location.
- The new-hire base salary range for this position, reflected in CAD, is: 81,000 - 101,200

- Our documentation is a core product surface and often the first interface that developers encounter, so it must clearly reflect the system's actual behavior.
- You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Design as part of a collaborative team that treats documentation as a critical part of the developer experience.
