Requirements

Maintains designated supply levels. What We Require: Education: High School diploma / GED.
experience and completion of Carilion Anesthesia Tech I competencies required.
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: None required.
Life Support: Must successfully complete AHA BLS-HCP within 2 months of hire and maintain throughout employment. Other Minimum
Must meet all level I competencies within 6 weeks of hire/start.
Must be able to fulfill fundamental components/essential elements of position.
Basic computer skills.
Demonstrates knowledge of principles of growth and development and anatomy and physiology as it applies to anesthesia care.

Performs general cleaning and decontamination of supplies and equipment.
Performs Decontamination and advanced sterilization processes (steam, flash, steriad).
Maintains accurate documentation as relates to activities, responsible for documentation of lot numbers for all sterilized items for tracking and recall purposes.
Assists Anesthesia Providers by preparing patients, positioning, induction, anesthesia delivery including blocks and emergence.
Qualifications: Effective interpersonal, critical thinking skills, communication and team working skills required.
Biologic hazards, infection control, and standard precautions.
Assists the licensed anesthesia provider and other ORS staff with direct patient care in clinical settings.
Communicates with physicians, nurse anesthetists RN's and other departmental staff written and orally in an effective respective manner.
Providing peri-operative technical support to the anesthesia professional and other departmental staff staff in the delivery of patient care.
