- Qualifications Requires high school diploma, or equivalency is required (GED) 10+ years of related experience. Related pipeline / facility construction and/or maintenance
- experience in the Oil and Gas industry High degree of respect for safe work habits Proven
- Ability to read and interpret pipeline drawings, one call clearances and project specific drawings. Preferred
- experience in the Oil and Gas industry Exposure to hydrotesting activities.
- Experience managing hot lines excavation of pipelines Computer proficiency (Windows, Word, email) Previous
- experience working with high pressure natural gas.

- The Opportunity The Construction Technician will be based in Spruce Grove, Alberta and reports to the designated Construction Manager under Construction Services West.
- This Technician builds and repairs pipeline assets in a manner that meets operational needs in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

- What you’ll do Planning, coordinating and supervising onsite third-party contractors Ensuring all work tasks and duties comply with TransCanada's Operating Procedures and Community, Safety and Environmental Policies Support the execution of all phases of pipeline maintenance including hot cuts, hot taps, cold cuts, casing projects, class upgrades, hydro-testing, re-coating of pipelines, and other various projects related to pipeline construction Maintaining excellent crew collaboration and productivity
- experience safely and effectively performing physically demanding labor duties as required.
- Qualifications Related pipeline / facility construction and/or maintenance
- Completion of API 1169 This position requires candidates to: Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract (record) for review Travel often (95%) to support construction activities in other company locations which will require overnight stays away from home and may be for long duration Work a modified work schedule (9 days on/5 days off) Be subject to overtime, extended work hours and
