Responsibilities
- Execute hands on development work for fabrication steps within one or multiple quantum chip process modules •
- Design and run hypothesis driven experiments to explore process parameters and new technology concepts •
- Analyze experimental data, make clear conclusions, and plan the next development iteration •
- Collaborate closely with QPU Process Engineers, Technicians, and Equipment Engineers to run experiments and solve technical issues •
- Support process integration with Cleanroom and Chip Production teams when needed •
- Report technical progress and development insights to the team leader or module owner •
Requirements
- Your work will directly shape how our chips perform, and how fast we can learn our way to better QPUs.
- A relevant degree in physics, materials science, electrical engineering, chemistry, nanotechnology, or a similar field, or equivalent hands on experience •
- experience in micro or nanofabrication, semiconductor processing, or device fabrication • Strong cleanroom
- experience with one of the following: lithography, etching, wet processing, deposition •
- Experience with superconducting devices or quantum chip fabrication •
- Experience with advanced cleanroom equipment and process integration •
- Familiarity with basic statistical methods for experimental work, such as Design of Experiments, or practical data analysis tools Why IQM? •

- In this role, you will help our Fabrication team develop new and improved fabrication processes for the next generation of quantum processing units.
- You will spend most of your time in the cleanroom, running development experiments across modules like lithography, etching, wet processing and deposition.
- Contribute to improving quantum chip performance (e.g., coherence time, qubit uniformity, signal routing capabilities). •
- Help transfer mature processes to Process Engineering for stabilization and production implementation •
