Responsibilities

  • Perform auxiliary electrical power system studies including load flow, short circuit, voltage drop, protection and coordination, ampacity, and battery sizing studies.
  • Perform substation grounding calculations and studies, lightning protection and insulation coordination, lighting, bus calculations, transformer and bus sizing calculations, fault calculations, and AC and DC auxiliary system sizing calculations.
  • Perform proposal preparation, proposal estimates, and provide input to scope documents and client presentations.
  • Supervise/coordinate other engineers of equal and lesser
  • Perform independent audits and reviews of technical work.
  • Perform the function of a team leader that can solve complex issues and act as a lead engineer responsible for the quality of the deliverables.
  • Independently perform tasks that typically include: Substation physical design including overall engineering and analysis for new switchyards and substations, additions and modifications.

Requirements

  • Vacancy Overview Lead Substation Electrical Engineer – Reading, PA Our client is seeking a Lead Substation Electrical Engineer t o work remotely or within their facilities located in Reading, PA, for a contract-to-hire position.
  • Purpose: You will provide engineering support for the design of substation facilities for 69kV and above for the client and its customers as an integral part of the Power Networks team.
  • Preparation of specifications and provide procurement support.
  • Preparation of engineering drawings including layout and general arrangements for all major equipment and structures required for high voltage switchyards or substation.
  • Drawings include site plans, plan and elevation views, grounding, conduit, lighting, lightning protection and shielding, control building arrangements and details, AC station service, DC systems and Bills of Material.
  • Responsible for the quality assurance of the documents to the applicable Worley and client standards.
  • Provides technical direction to subordinate team members.
  • Complete tasks in accordance with project procedures, applicable codes and/or standards, on schedule and within budget.
  • Discuss technical problems and communicate effectively with other project personnel and outside customers.
  • Interface with other departmental staff, project management, and with outside customers.
