Requirements
- Role Overview We are seeking six (6) Simulator Technicians to join our team in Mississauga, Ontario.
- The Simulator Technician performs pre‑ and post‑flight activities, conducts visual alignments, runs Qualification Test Guides (QTGs), assists in troubleshooting, and completes scheduled preventive maintenance.
- Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance on simulators and associated systems Assist with diagnosing and correcting simulator system issues Use maintenance management systems to track all maintenance activities Complete all required technical training Conduct pre‑flight and post‑flight activities on assigned simulators Perform basic visual alignments Run automatic Qualification Test Guides (QTGs) Support refurbishment and hardware modification projects Follow CAE’s Quality Management System
- Qualifications Completion of a formal avionics/electro‑mechanical technology program Minimum 3 years equivalent
- experience specifically in flight simulator, motion‑platform, or aerospace‑grade test system maintenance Familiarity with diagnostic and calibration tools (e.g., NI LabVIEW, MATLAB) Ability to interpret system prints and schematics Simulation Systems knowledge including motion system, electromechanical systems and interphase system.
- Knowledge of Visual Systems including ACE Clutter, Visual Main UI, Theotalk, ANDS, GNDBS.
- Strong competency in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and documentation Proficiency in soldering and precision electronic repair Skilled in electronic troubleshooting and circuit board repair (SMT and through‑hole) Specialized Skills considered as an asset
- Experience supporting, tuning, and maintaining motion, control, and visual platforms in full‑flight simulators Ability to perform diagnostics, sensor alignment, and calibration using advanced test equipment Familiarity with real‑time simulator operations, documentation, and qualification processes
