Develop, execute, and continuously refine IQM’s government affairs and public affairs strategy across priority markets. •
Lead efforts to influence and shape Germany's position on EU quantum policy through strategic engagement with policymakers, government stakeholders, and industry partners, ensuring alignment with the company's priorities and the broader quantum ecosystem. •
Build and maintain strong relationships with policymakers, government agencies, funding bodies, research organizations, and other key stakeholders relevant to IQM’s growth. •
Identify opportunities to secure governmental support, public funding, and strategic partnerships that contribute to IQM’s commercial success and long-term objectives. •
Lead advocacy efforts and represent IQM in policy discussions, industry forums, governmental meetings, and other high-impact events. •
Monitor political, legislative, and policy developments across current and potential markets, translating them into actionable recommendations for leadership and business teams. •
Arrange and support meetings with policymakers and key stakeholders, ensuring effective engagement and follow-up. •
Coordinate and oversee external public affairs partners, including partner selection, budget management, performance monitoring, and strategic alignment. •
Strengthen IQM’s thought leadership and public-sector positioning through strategic engagement, messaging, and participation in industry discussions. •
Foster relationships with policy experts, think tanks, academics, and industry influencers to anticipate developments and strengthen IQM’s influence. •
Oversee the contributions of IQM’s Quantum Councils and ensure alignment with broader public affairs priorities and strategic objectives. •
Drive the development and expansion of IQM’s political influence and messaging within the public sector while maintaining alignment with company values and business goals.
Requirements
The successful candidate is expected to be based in Berlin or the greater Berlin metropolitan area , with the ability to travel occasionally to our Munich office as needed.
experience in government affairs, public affairs, public policy, political consulting, advocacy, or a related field (7+ years). •
Strong understanding of governmental decision-making processes, public funding mechanisms, and policy development at national and international levels. • Demonstrated
experience managing external partners, budgets, and cross-functional initiatives. •
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills, with the ability to operate effectively across diverse audiences. •
Experience leading advocacy initiatives, public affairs campaigns, or government engagement programs. •
Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and navigate complex and evolving political environments. •
Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, International Relations, Economics, Law, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. •
Experience within deep technology, high-tech industries, research organizations, innovation ecosystems, or publicly funded technology programs is considered a strong advantage. •
Familiarity with quantum technologies, high-performance computing, semiconductors, or other advanced technology sectors is a plus. •
Experience working in an international environment across multiple markets is highly desirable.
