Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve training device faults, including Aircraft on Ground (AOG) issues.
- Suggest and implement improvements to maintenance procedures and ways of working.
- Maintain and support the FSTD Operations Management System, including adopting processes and procedures as required.
- Carry out minor software, hardware, and/or CDB updates when required.
- Track consumables and tools, and raise requests to ensure maintenance and readiness activities can be completed.
- Support logistics tasks such as annual inventories, reorganising stores, packing, and preparing items for shipment.
- Build your expertise in one or more simulator systems (e.g., Visual, Motion, Flight Controls).
Requirements
- We’re looking for a curious, hands-on Simulator Engineering Technician to join our team supporting UAV simulators.
- You’ll learn how our training devices work end-to-end and build the practical skills to grow into a Simulator Engineer.
- In this role, you’ll help us deliver world-class simulator training by keeping devices reliable, safe, and ready for use.
- This opportunity is ideal for recent Engineering graduates (or candidates with a technical diploma/qualification and some practical experience) who want a structured pathway into simulator engineering.
- The position is based in the Al Dhafra Region (remote from major centres), so you’ll need a driving licence and be comfortable commuting or relocating closer to the airbase.
- What you’ll do Support the day-to-day technical and operational performance of Flight Simulator Training Devices (FSTDs).
- Qualifications Technical college diploma or degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or an Aviation-related field.
- A customer-focused mindset and the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Basic understanding of networking, operating systems, and programming concepts.
