Responsibilities
- Evaluate, audit, and approve waste vendors to ensure safe, compliant transportation, recycling, and disposal of plant waste materials.
- Manage environmental financial and compliance reporting, including Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) and FIN‑47 requirements.
- Review and approve facility, process, and material changes to assess and mitigate potential environmental impacts and permit implications.
- Oversee environmental permitting, including identifying requirements, calculating emissions, preparing applications, and negotiating terms with regulators.
- Ensure regulatory compliance by interpreting applicable federal, state, and local regulations; conducting compliance audits; and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Requirements
- What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, or a related technical, science, or engineering discipline.
- Experience in a management or professional role within a mid‑size or moderately complex manufacturing environment, with strong knowledge of environmental regulations and ISO 14001 environmental management systems.
- Demonstrated background managing environmental and operational projects, including independently leading small to medium projects and contributing to larger, more complex initiatives, with a track record of developing and implementing environmental programs.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations; project planning and execution; contractor and consultant management; cost and return‑on‑investment analysis; and effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. #LI-FM1 Goodyear is one of the world's largest tire companies.
