Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical strategy for Ingress Security, in collaboration with stakeholders across Server, Atlas, SRE, and Product Security
- Own the definition, planning, and execution of technical plans to deliver solutions to ambiguous, high-impact security and networking problems
- Design, implement, and operate production-ready security services in Rust, with a focus on security, correctness, performance, and operational excellence
- Collaborate with Engineering leadership and other Product & Technology teams on roadmaps to improve the security posture of MongoDB's ingress stack
- Advise across the team and organization on engineering complexity, risk, and inter-project dependencies
- Handle time-sensitive escalations and production incidents that require expert support from Ingress Security
- Diagnose test failures, identify bugs, performance regressions, and other defects in existing code, and fix them
- Interview candidates for software engineering positions, and work with Engineering leadership to cultivate the team's talent bench for long-term growth and success
- Develop and maintain expertise on relevant cutting-edge research in systems security, network security, and memory-safe systems programming from industry and academia Success Measures

Requirements
- Come join the Server Ingress Security team, where we are rearchitecting MongoDB Server’s ingress networking to make MongoDB clusters even more secure.
- This new team is building the Atlas Network Protection layer, a set of performant, security-critical services that harden MongoDB's pre-authentication attack surface and provides the ability to respond rapidly to emergent threats.

- experience working hands-on in security-sensitive or networking-adjacent domains
- Understanding of network protocols, TLS, and connection lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with security concepts such as attack surface reduction, input validation, memory safety, and defense-in-depth architectures.
- B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design/architecture.
