Responsibilities

- Support patients experiencing substance withdrawal and recovery

Requirements
- Applies knowledge of growth and development to provide age-appropriate care.
- Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required or eligibility to obtain licensure required.
- Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required.
- Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area. Other Minimum
- Qualifications: Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required, including use of electronic medical records.
- For Behavioral Health roles, must demonstrate ability to safely manage disruptive or potentially violent patients.

- The 7M Medical Specialty Unit is a specialized 12-bed inpatient unit dedicated to providing comprehensive care for adult patients with complex medical conditions, co-occurring behavioral health needs, and substance use disorders.
- Work in a highly specialized and rewarding clinical environment
- Provide integrated medical and behavioral healthcare
- Contribute to improved patient outcomes and successful community transitions
- Collaborative Team Approach Staff on 7M work closely with Physicians, Registered Nurses, Therapists, Case Managers, Addiction Specialists, and Behavioral Health Professionals.
- Together, we address acute medical needs while providing behavioral support, medication management, discharge planning, and recovery-oriented treatment.
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Completes and documents age-specific assessments to support development of care plans.
- Administers treatments and medications accurately and documents care in electronic medical records.
- Identifies and addresses patient and family education needs.
