Requirements

  • Applies knowledge of growth and development to provide age-appropriate care.
  • Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required or eligibility to obtain licensure required.
  • Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required.
  • Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area. Other Minimum
  • Qualifications: Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required, including use of electronic medical records.
  • For Behavioral Health roles, must demonstrate ability to safely manage disruptive or potentially violent patients.

  • The 7M Medical Specialty Unit is a specialized 12-bed inpatient unit dedicated to providing comprehensive care for adult patients with complex medical conditions, co-occurring behavioral health needs, and substance use disorders.
  • Work in a highly specialized and rewarding clinical environment

  • Contribute to improved patient outcomes and successful community transitions
  • Collaborative Team Approach Staff on 7M work closely with Physicians, Registered Nurses, Therapists, Case Managers, Addiction Specialists, and Behavioral Health Professionals.
  • Together, we address acute medical needs while providing behavioral support, medication management, discharge planning, and recovery-oriented treatment.
  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Completes and documents age-specific assessments to support development of care plans.
  • Administers treatments and medications accurately and documents care in electronic medical records.
  • Identifies and addresses patient and family education needs.
