Responsibilities
- Develop and/or analyze financial models to calculate profitability of projects of the Company (mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, project financing, etc.).
- Analyze factors that influence profitability of projects.
- Participate/Coordinate due diligence with customers or partners.
- Review all projects to ensure all employees are informed of local issues, risks and other considerations, legal structure, etc. Review all contract clauses for commercial/financial documents and make recommendations such that CAE's risk is minimized and customer's requirements are met.
Requirements
- Initial role where need to obtain success through others (leadership of organic investments through leading analysts) Work in collaboration with multiple teams within the marketing/business Development, engineering, product and technology teams to present projects to internal and external customers, based on knowledge of the business model and accounting/financial principles. Minimum
- Qualifications University degree; Finance/Accounting/Business background.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and accounting principles.
- Experience in capital budgeting techniques, forecasting, variance analysis, and evaluating financial impacts to improve project costs and margins for business cases.
- Understanding of product and digital development lifecycles, including expertise in conducting financial analyses to evaluate cost and margin advantages.
- Ability to effectively communicate with upper management, colleagues, customers and financial institution.
- Qualifications Accounting designation and/or CFA or CBV or equivalent completed.
- Experience with hardware and software processes in aerospace high-tech.
- Relevant experiences in structured finance and/or business cases and/or mergers and acquisitions.
- Ability to teach / on-board new colleagues.
- Ability to lead and mentor analysts within the team.

- Description With the support of the analysts, lead the approval of building business cases for all technology capital investment projects up until and including the presentation to the CFO.
- Deliverables will include the development and/or analysis and review of financial models to calculate profitability of such capital projects, preparation of presentation material, as well as review of any legal documentation required related to the projects.
- Provide support for all commercial product lines (bids/proposals).
- On-board new recruits joining at Analyst levels; allow them to shadow work, act as resource.
