Responsibilities
- Develop computerized scheduling techniques for major component outages.
- Coordinate and evaluate generating asset maintenance programs to improve generation reliability.
- Make recommendations for corrective action when necessary.
- Write specifications and purchase requisitions to support Production Resources activities.
- Write specifications and purchase requisitions for services to support fleet reliability activities.
Requirements
- experience will be required at the Production Specialist III level.
- Position Summary Applies knowledge and utilizes advanced technical expertise in a specific specialty area in support of operations and maintenance across the Xcel Energy fleet.
- experience in power generation, or equivalent industrial manufacturing/power generation setting, or OEM operations/maintenance that demonstrates knowledge of standard engineering principles/practices/techniques and power generation operations/maintenance processes with expertise in one or more of the following areas: process control, operational technology (OT), electrical, turbine-generators/rotating equipment, boilers/heat recovery steam generators, and/or non-destructive testing (NDE/NDT).
- Some college coursework in engineering is desirable.
- Must have the ability to travel extensively and work non-typical schedules.
- Experience in supervising craft employees desired. Production Specialist III: Minimum
- experience in power generation, or equivalent industrial manufacturing/power generation setting, or OEM operations/maintenance that demonstrates thorough knowledge of standard engineering principles/practices/techniques and power generation operations/maintenance processes with expertise in one or more of the following areas: process control, operational technology (OT), electrical, turbine-generators/rotating equipment, boilers/heat recovery steam generators, and/or non-destructive testing (NDE/NDT).
- Experience in supervising craft employees desired. Preferred
- experience on steam or gas turbines.
- Experience working with steam turbines , combustion turbines , and other rotating equipment such as pumps and motors. Prior power plant
- experience , particularly in operations, maintenance, or engineering roles. Proficiency in vibration analysis for troubleshooting mechanical issues and performing equipment balancing.
- Experience and training on Siemens, GE, or other OEM equipment.
