Production Specialist II or III

Responsibilities

  • Develop computerized scheduling techniques for major component outages.
  • Coordinate and evaluate generating asset maintenance programs to improve generation reliability.
  • Make recommendations for corrective action when necessary.
  • Write specifications and purchase requisitions to support Production Resources activities.
  • Write specifications and purchase requisitions for services to support fleet reliability activities.

Requirements

  • experience will be required at the Production Specialist III level.
  • Position Summary Applies knowledge and utilizes advanced technical expertise in a specific specialty area in support of operations and maintenance across the Xcel Energy fleet.
  • experience in power generation, or equivalent industrial manufacturing/power generation setting, or OEM operations/maintenance that demonstrates knowledge of standard engineering principles/practices/techniques and power generation operations/maintenance processes with expertise in one or more of the following areas: process control, operational technology (OT), electrical, turbine-generators/rotating equipment, boilers/heat recovery steam generators, and/or non-destructive testing (NDE/NDT).
  • Some college coursework in engineering is desirable.
  • Must have the ability to travel extensively and work non-typical schedules.
  • Experience in supervising craft employees desired. Production Specialist III: Minimum
  • experience in power generation, or equivalent industrial manufacturing/power generation setting, or OEM operations/maintenance that demonstrates thorough knowledge of standard engineering principles/practices/techniques and power generation operations/maintenance processes with expertise in one or more of the following areas: process control, operational technology (OT), electrical, turbine-generators/rotating equipment, boilers/heat recovery steam generators, and/or non-destructive testing (NDE/NDT).
  • Experience in supervising craft employees desired. Preferred
  • experience on steam or gas turbines.
  • Experience working with steam turbines , combustion turbines , and other rotating equipment such as pumps and motors. Prior power plant
  • experience , particularly in operations, maintenance, or engineering roles. Proficiency in vibration analysis for troubleshooting mechanical issues and performing equipment balancing.
  • Experience and training on Siemens, GE, or other OEM equipment.
