Responsibilities

Develop Fire Hazard Analyses, Fire Protection Program, First Safe Shutdown Analyses, and other licensing and design documentation
Define equipment architecture, specifications, operational modes, and performance criteria
Lead the design of fire protection equipment
Perform commissioning and testing of fire protection systems
Manage projects with third party fire protection consultants •
Document work using modern tools and techniques, and compose well-written, thoughtful technical reports Minimum

Experience performing design of fire protection systems in the nuclear, petroleum, petrochemical, or pharmaceutical industries •
Broad familiarity with engineering principles, and having strong systems engineering and operations intuition
Experience with IBC or IFC standards •
You bring an enthusiasm to the team, and imbue a sense of passion that goes beyond clocking in and clocking out.
For the first two weeks of onboarding, employees are required to be in person at headquarters in Santa Clara, CA.

About Oklo compensation: $80,000-$155,000
Salary may fall outside of the range provided and will be dependent on applicant experience.

Fire Protection Engineers at Oklo are responsible for the design and development of the fire protection systems in Oklo's power plants.
Engineering education, potentially Fire Protection, Nuclear, Chemical, or Mechanical •
Knowledgable in nuclear facility fire protection design and operations under an NRC or DOE license •
Passionate about making advanced fission a reality •
Willing to think differently and do things in new ways •
Comfortable in a fast-paced, highly iterative startup environment •
Excited to think creatively, critically, and reflectively about the problems they are solving while not leaning only on what has been done before •
Willing to propose novel and creative solutions to technical problems •
