Responsibilities
- Own what we build and where we expand, work directly with customers to validate direction, partner with engineering on technical strategy, and ensure our roadmap positions us to win in IAM.
- - Architect our platform to unify human and non-human identity governance across hybrid environments by making sense of on-prem AD, cloud IAM, SaaS apps, and AI agents.
- - Drive category creation and position Opal as the authorization intelligence layer, not just another point solution in a crowded IAM landscape.
- - Build platforms, not just features: you understand API strategy, developer experience, and how to create extensible systems that others build on.
- - Own product strategy from insight to execution.
Requirements
- About Opal Security: At Opal, we’re building modern identity governance for the AI era—intelligent access management that empowers enterprises to move fast while staying secure.
- We're building AI-native security that scales with this chaos and companies like Databricks, Cloudflare, and Figma are betting on us to get it right.
- You'd rather figure out what to build than refine an existing roadmap. - Work across the stack: you're comfortable talking technical architecture with engineers, doing the boring admin work, and owning business outcomes with customers. - Most importantly - shape a category: you're excited about defining what AI-native IAM means and building the product that becomes the standard.
- What You Bring: - 6+ years in product management, owning a highly technical product or solution in the security space - Track record building 1-to-n products and scaling them - Ability to drive high performant engineering output - Either a degree in computer science or you categorize yourself as a pseudo/honorary engineer
Additional details
- Our mission is to bring clarity, control, and confidence to complex enterprise environments, helping teams govern access without slowing down innovation.
- Every company is deploying agents, spinning up service accounts, and realizing their IAM stack can't keep up.
