Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own critical systems of the Fabric Gateway from the ground up — this is founding-level engineering work.
- Lead architecture decisions for distributed systems that need to be fast, reliable, and correct at scale — handling high request volumes across a diverse ecosystem of services.
- Drive technical direction and make high-leverage decisions; you'll be setting patterns the rest of the team follows.
- Own observability, performance, and reliability end-to-end — SLA targets, monitoring, and on-call are your personal responsibility, not a handoff.
- Collaborate closely with the EM and PM to scope milestones, prioritize ruthlessly, and iterate toward Early Access and GA.
Requirements
- Enterprises are rapidly shifting from human-driven API workflows to multi-agent systems — where AI agents autonomously discover, call, and collaborate with APIs, tools, CLIs, and each other.
- Where Postman today is the API platform for human-first integration , we are building Postman into the agent interface fabric for AI-first integration .
- The Fabric Gateway team is building the API gateway for the AI era — one of Postman's most ambitious greenfield infrastructure products.
- experience building infrastructure-level or platform software in cloud-native or SaaS environments.
- Proficiency in Go . Strong fundamentals in systems programming and performance-sensitive code are essential.
- Solid grasp of security primitives: mTLS, JWT, OAuth 2.0, RBAC / ABAC .
- Familiarity with modern protocol ecosystems (HTTP/2, gRPC, WebSockets).
- Kubernetes-native deployment experience: Helm, operators, CRDs.
