Director of Engineering

Responsibilities

- Design, implement and monitor all operations and key performance indicators, including metrics and operational efficiency, from the engineering team.
- Collaborate closely with our SVP Engineering, Product and Ops teams, helping set strategic initiatives.

A core focus will be defining key processes and practices, and experimenting with new technology to push the envelope on how fast and well we can build using AI-powered tools like Claude Code.
- Define and optimize workflows, tooling, and processes to ensure the developer team pushes the envelope on build speed and quality in an AI-augmented environment.
- Mentor and inspire our development team by providing architectural, technical, and AI-development best-practice guidance.
experience in software engineering. - Proven, hands-on
experience integrating and managing large teams (30+ developers) that are using AI-powered code generation tools to significantly enhance development speed and quality.
- Deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges in an AI-augmented software development lifecycle (SDLC), including code review best practices, prompt engineering for development, and maximizing throughput with code-generating models.
- Demonstrates the ability to build cohesive, high-performing and healthy teams and has proven relationship management and leadership skills—they don’t shy away from challenging or difficult conversations.
